How to Create a Supervision Task and Add a Supervision Note

1.Creating a Supervision Task:

The quickest way to create a supervision task is to click Create a task at the bottom of the patient’s boarding card. This will take you to the Task Summary section within the Care Pathway tab, where supervision tasks are stored.

You can also access supervision tasks by opening the patient’s record and selecting the Care Pathway tab. If you want to view all tasks across your caseload, click on the Task Centre icon in the top menu bar.

2.Start a New Task:

Under the Task Summary subheading, click Create a task.

3.Complete the Task Details:

A new task window will open. Complete the following details:

  • Task title: e.g., Session number 6

  • Task category: Select from the drop-down list, e.g., Session Extension

  • Task detailed description: Add any relevant information.

Once complete, click Create. A confirmation message will appear in the top right corner of your screen.

Your new task will now appear under Task History, where you can filter tasks by All, Open, or Closed. To view any task, click View under the Actions column.

You can add further comments to your task using the free text field at the bottom of the page. When finished, click Post. Your comments - and any replies from your Supervisor - will appear in the Comments section.

4.Exiting a Task:

To exit the supervision task, click the X in the top right corner of the task window. This will return you to the Task Centre homepage, where you can view all tasks related to your caseload.

5.Filtering and Notifications:

You can filter tasks using the drop-down boxes for:

  • Category (ticket type)

  • Open / Closed status

  • Last comment

  • Task created

When your Supervisor replies, you will receive an email notification, and a red dot will appear on the Task Centre icon.

To view the comment, return to the Task Summary section in the patient’s Care Pathway tab or click the link in the notification email. Select View on the relevant task to read your Supervisor’s response. You can reply using the free text field and clicking Post. Once supervision is complete, your Supervisor will mark the task as Closed.

6.If Care Admin Team Need to Take Action:

If an action has been agreed in supervision (e.g., Send a referral on), you can create a direct link to the case task:

  1. Click the Share icon in the top right corner of the task. A confirmation box will appear stating the link has been copied to your clipboard.

  2. Create a new email and paste the link into the body using CTRL+V.

  3. Add a summary of the agreed action in the email subject line.

The Care Admin team will then action the request. Please also add a copy of the email to the non-clinical notes under Patient referral.
